Will 988 offer a texting option?

Yes.  Anyone can text “988” or chat at 988lifeline.org.

LGBTQI+ Individuals and Youth: Text "Q" to 988 to connect with counselors who provide LGBTQI+ affirming support. Alternatively, you can press "3" when calling 988.

Veterans and Military Service Members: Text 838255 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line directly. This service is also accessible by calling 988 and pressing "1".

Spanish Speakers: Text "AYUDA" to 988 to connect with a Spanish-speaking crisis counselor. You can also press "2" when calling 988 for Spanish language support.
