Will Certified Peer Specialists (CPSs) be used/hired for aspects of the 988 crisis services continuum?

Certified Peer Specialists (CPSs) are a critical component of our behavioral health workforce in Georgia. DBHDD is considering the roles for this CPS workforce across the crisis continuum as part of the rollout of 988. Certified Peer Specialists already hold crucial recovery-oriented roles in Georgia's crisis infrastructure, including within the crisis call center, within peer-run warmlines, on Mobile Crisis Response Services (MCRS) teams, and in Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU)/Behavioral Health Crisis Centers (BHCC).
